Converse gets a touch of DC Comics

Picked up these awesome chuck's last week! I'm not much of a sneaker-head, but I was absolutely compelled to buy them!

Why, you slimy, double-crossing, no-good swindler!

Star Trek has Tiberius Cologne for Men. Star Wars will be pushing their own line of fragrances from a galaxy far far away. Slave Leia's scent looks like a decent bottle of perfume, but Lando? Han Solo would've been a better choice. I can imagine Solo's tag line "Scent of a Scoundrel." I still think Captain Kirk still has the edge on this one!

If you could sum up Galactus in one picture....

... this is it!

I'm not even a huge fan of Galactus. Frankly, if you ask me, no matter how you slice it... he's still wearing a skirt! However, I still can't get over the awesomeness of the exclusive SDCC Galactus. Not just for the figure, but the shear size of it being traditionally carded! Here it is next to the build-a-figure (BAF) version.

Weezer's latest album will be titled...

Weezer, well known for their fun light-hearted music and knack for being pop-culturally relevant has a new album on the horizon. The album will be titled "Hurley." Not after the clothing brand or the sport, but after Hurley from ABC's Lost. To reinforce their album title, Jorge Garcia (aka Hurley) will be prominently featured on the album cover! I wonder if Rivers Cuomo and the gang were crying during the series finale along with the masses.

TMNT Marvel?

This is one hell of a mash-up I would never have thought of. This concept art is brought to you courtesy of Springfield Punx artist Dean Fraser. You can find his blog here. Yes, these are the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Marveled-out!

Did you like Wanted and Kick-Ass on the big screen? Get ready for Nemesis

Mark Millar, known for beating the shit out of his characters, may possibly add another of his comic book titles to the movie making list. Nemesis has been optioned by 20th Century Fox, possibly to be directed by Tony Scott (Top Gun). Published by Icon Comics, written and illustrated by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven respectively, "Nemesis" brings the villain to the forefront of this story. Imagine Batman without any moral code of conduct in the superhero realm, then allow him to go on a murderous rampage with no limits. This is essentially Nemesis. It's no secret he's modeled after Batman, in fact, the complete opposite of Batman, down to the very color of their suits. Nemesis is currently on their second issue.

Marvel Comics.... Megaman style!

Not sure if someone actually modded Megaman to feature Marvel comics characters, but this looks awesome! There are five characters that I can't seem to pinpoint either due to not knowing Marvel that well or my terrible eyesight. Being able to identify 90% of the characters shown isn't to shabby... right?

The Dark Knight in 5 seconds

Not sure if this video truly captures The Dark Knight in five seconds as well as the five seconds of Million Dollar Baby was captured, but I had a pretty good laugh about it. For the record, I still think Bale's batvoice is awesome!

Smallville's final season... who's making an appearance?

In previous seasons we've seen Doomsday, the Wonder Twins, the Legion of Superheroes and the JLU. What could they possibly have in store for us this season? Here it is: Deadshot, Booster Gold, Blue Beetle and Darkseid! Friggin DARKSEID!
