Batman Beyond Going Digital

Batman Beyond lasted three short seasons from 1999 to 2002. It spawned one movie, a variety of cameos and it's own comic book title, being put to rest shortly after the television series ended. Strangely, the show ended simply because it wasn't commissioned for more seasons, not because of a lack of popularity or ratings. Well, Terry McGinnis is back, not only with a brand new comic book series, but with a digital makeover. If there's any comic book title more fitting to be transformed in our new new highway of information consumption, it only seems appropriate that Terry McGinnis lead the way with its cyberpunk futuristic tone. I've been dabbling with DC Comics' ComiXology app on my iPhone, and I must say I really like it. It's a great way to take comics to-go without the hassle of piling stacks-and-stacks of long boxes. Although for me, it's too late for that. What do I think about the future of traditional comic books, the brick and morters and the oh-so-lovable comic book guys of the world? I'm sure they'll continue to endure. If die hard comic book fans can't get over Ryan Reynold's CGI Green Lantern suit, I'm sure they're not clamoring Apple stores for iPhones and iPads.

Green Lantern: Movie website is up and running... sort of....

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it right now. The Green Lantern movie will be the Iron Man hit for DC Comics. Meaning, Green Lantern is a character nerds all know, but the general public doesn't. But they will, just like Iron Man, especially with Ryan Reynolds leading the charge as Hal Jordan. Most nerds can name off a handful of Green Lantern characters. Some nerds can even name the sector of the universe Hal, John, Guy, Kyle and Alan protect (2814), but I'll digress. DC Comics has the official Green Lantern movie website up and running... sort of. Check it out, wait and see if something happens beyond the glowing lantern and the epic-orb sound that plays in the background. You can view the website here.

Not sure why I keep seeing more-and-more superhero shoes emerging on the market, not that I'm complaining, but I found these custom Batman and Robin Nike's I'd really like to get my hands on. What I like about these designs is the level of "personality" it captures, especially Robin's design, really capturing the elements of Robin. You can buy them here for £500.00. That translates to about $643.00!

Allison Mack jumping from Smallville screen to comic ink

Well, her character Chloe Sullivan will be. Chloe has been an integral part of the Smallville storyline from as far back as season one. She will be introduced to the DC Universe in comic form in Action Comics No. 893. Only in recent seasons have they addressed Chloe as not being character in the DC Universe, most notably during the Legion of Superheroes episode. I believe it was Saturn Girl mentioning that archives didn't show any record of Chloe Sullivan in Superman's life. The last character to jump from screen to ink was Harley Quinn. It will be interesting to see how Chloe is written in.
