Marvel Comics.... Megaman style!

Not sure if someone actually modded Megaman to feature Marvel comics characters, but this looks awesome! There are five characters that I can't seem to pinpoint either due to not knowing Marvel that well or my terrible eyesight. Being able to identify 90% of the characters shown isn't to shabby... right?

The Dark Knight in 5 seconds

Not sure if this video truly captures The Dark Knight in five seconds as well as the five seconds of Million Dollar Baby was captured, but I had a pretty good laugh about it. For the record, I still think Bale's batvoice is awesome!

Smallville's final season... who's making an appearance?

Smallville's tenth and final season is due to air on Friday September 4th and their line-up of guest appearances have already been announced. In previous seasons we've seen Doomsday, the Wonder Twins, the Legion of Superheroes and the JLU. What could they possibly have in store for us this season? Here it is: Deadshot, Booster Gold, Blue Beetle and Darkseid! Friggin DARKSEID!

Batman Arkham Asylum sequel has an official title

Batman: Arkham City! A little bit of a curve ball from what I was expecting, but the trailer clearly indicates that the story will be taking place outside the confines of Arkham Asylum. C'mon Stan!

I'm still a bit wary of Adrianne Curry's way of winning an audience's attention among the geek community. Sure, she's a legitimate WOW player and has a genuine love for Star Wars, but running around scantily clad in every fanboy fantasy cosplay outfit imaginable just seems a bit overboard. If Olivia Munn is the iPhone, Adrianne Curry is Droid, desperately trying to gain market share. This photo just seems to cement my hesitation to accept her as "one of our own." She managed to make Stan Lee look like a dirty old man!

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions

I've been a long time fan of Spider-Man video games since the free roaming days of Spider-Man 2. Spidey just translates well into a free roaming platform. It looks like they've stepped things up a bit with their latest Spider-Man installment, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. I'll be picking this game up when it comes out! Thor Trailer!

Not sure how long this video will be available, but this Thor trailer leaked sometime last week. Every website I've visited pulled it down hours after it was posted, so get your geek-on while you can. I'm surprised at how long this trailer is, it's way more than a teaser. It's the type of trailer you'd expect to see weeks before it's theatrical release. Needless to say, I've never been so excited about Thor until now!

Avenger's Teaser, now with logo!

Superman saved this family!

A family living in their home since the 1950's was subject to having their home foreclosed when they stumbled upon a gold mine sitting in their basement. With no financial resolution to save their home, they began packing their things when they found a comic book among their things. Not just any comic book, but Action Comics issue 1, the first appearance of Superman. Potentially being worth a quarter million dollars, it goes to show Superman can really save lives.

The family declined to have their identities revealed (in true comic fashion)!

Movie Review - Batman: Under the Red Hood

"Batman: Under The Red Hood", based on Judd Winick and Doug Mahnke's comic book series "The Red Hood", tells the tale of Jason Todd, his return from death and the havoc he reeks on Gotham City as a hero that punishes villains with deadly consequences. In short, he's a Batman that kills people.

This was a fairly good adaptation from the comic book series, staying true to the nature of the story. I'm actually surprised at how dark they made this film. However, DC Entertainment been upping the maturity level of their animated films recently, which gives the animators more elbow room for more compellingly violent scenes and stories. Right off the bat, you see Jason being beaten to death by the Joker. From there the story line treads lightly until the end of the film when Red Hood and Batman face-off. The final scene had me sitting on the edge of my seat because Batman was posed with a great question, challenging his own personal morals and beliefs.

A few things the movie could've improved on. It would've been more effective to see exactly how Jason was captured by the Joker. In the comics, it was a much more elaborate plan put together by the Joker with a strong emotional twist, rather than a mishap of chance as explained during the film. Also, as much as I like Nightwing, it would've been great to include Tim Drake in some way. He's not even referenced by name.

Overall, good film, highly recommended for DCU fans. The more they continue to stay true to the source material, the better these films get.
